Our client in the financial services industry, based in Downtown Vancouver is looking for a Portfolio Administrator to join their team. This will be a 1-year contract role, with strong chance of extension, or it becoming permanent.
This role is fully based in office.
Salary: $60k - $75k, based on experience.
Responsibilities:

  • This role is responsible for providing exceptional client service to their high-net-worth clients
  • Review daily cash balances for overdrafts and anticipate debit positions as a result of scheduled payments, fees, etc.
  • Schedule client meetings
  • Review daily transactions for clients' accounts and post cash transactions to portfolio management system.
  • Facilitate funds transfers in and out for clients as requested
  • Arrange and provide for all administrative and reporting requests from clients and their associates (accountants, lawyers, financial planners, personal assistants, etc.)
  • Work closely with various Custodian departments to resolve errors or issues
  • Assist with the preparation of the quarterly reports to private clients (letters and statements) and mailing, and yearly tax reporting packages.
  • Explain specific tax reporting issued to client for a particular account.
  • Explain contribution and withdrawal rules to clients regarding registered accounts
  • Resolve issues regarding private client accounts such as discrepancies, ACB etc.
  • Other duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
  • Previous administrative and client service experience
  • Must have experience in investment industry (either brokerage or investment management) preferably Administrative Assistant experience or related experience.
  • CSC is an asset
  • Other CSI or industry courses an asset
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree
  • Professional with great attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong administrative and computer skills
  • Experience with MS Office suite, especially Excel
  • Polished and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Strong work ethic
