Position Title: Banquet Porter
Job Summary
The Banquet Porter is responsible for the efficient setup, maintenance, and breakdown of meeting and event spaces at Club Italia. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to exceptional guest service. Able to handle last minute changes to plans and be guest focused. Provide exceptional customer service that sets us apart from the competition.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and dismantle event spaces according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and management instructions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of meeting rooms, equipment, and storage areas.
Ensure all furniture and equipment are in good condition; perform minor repairs as needed.
Provide prompt and courteous service to guests, assisting with requests and resolving issues.
Handle and transport equipment and materials safely and efficiently.
Support other banquet staff and perform additional duties as assigned.
Uphold high standards of personal appearance, hygiene, and uniform compliance.
Qualifications
Energetic, positive, and self-motivated with a collaborative mindset.
Strong attention to detail and ability to adapt to last-minute changes.
Comfortable interacting with guests and providing solutions in a professional manner.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Availability to work early in the mornings, late nights, and weekends.
Skills & Requirements
Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important.
WHMIS certification.
Clean Police Clearance Certificate required.
Availability for early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
Knowledge of banquet service areas and equipment maintenance.
Commitment to maintaining sanitary and safe conditions.
Maintain banquet service equipment and complete inventory of cleaning supplies.
