Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Laundry or designate, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Laundry Porter/Cart MakeUp is responsible for: the physical movement of clean and soiled laundry carts from all areas of the hospital complex and affiliated buildings; preparation of linen carts and orders; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach constantly throughout the entire shift. Ability to lift/move items weighing approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs. Ability to push carts weighing up to approximately 500 lbs./230 kgs.
