The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.Position OverviewUnder the general direction of the Charge Technologist, Radiology, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the Porter, Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for: transporting and assisting patients; attending to the needs of patients; documenting appropriate information; wiping down equipment and ensuring same is in adequate working order; ensuring rooms are properly stocked with linen; ensuring the adequate supply of oxygen tanks and changing them as required; and performing other related duties as assigned.Experience

• Minimum six (6) months experience in a hospital or recognized equivalent health care setting as a patient porter or other direct patient care position.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

• Grade 12, or recognized equivalent.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to interact well with others.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to retain information which is of a confidential nature.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move heavy patients.
