Job Description

We're looking for a hands-on Pool Plumbing Specialist to build and service high-end commercial aquatic systems. You'll lay out, install, pressure-test, and commission piping and equipment for pools, hot tubs, spas, and water features--delivering leak-free, code-compliant systems that run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Layout & Install

Read shop drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and equipment schedules; verify on-site dimensions and elevations. Install suction/return manifolds, feature lines (jets, bubblers, waterfalls), backwash lines, vacuum lines, and balance/surge tanks. Fabricate and solvent-weld Schedule 40/80 PVC and CPVC; assemble, support and anchor piping per spec.

Equipment & Integration

Set and plumb pumps, filters, heaters/boilers/heat pumps, UV/ozone, salt systems, auto-fills, chemical feed/CO? systems, and valves/actuators. Integrate with electrical/controls teams for sensors, flow/pressure switches, and automation valves.

Quality & Testing

Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests; document results. Flush, clean, and disinfect piping; assist with start-up, balancing, and handover. Diagnose and repair leaks, flow restrictions, cavitation, priming issues, and equipment faults.

Site Coordination

Coordinate sleeves, blockouts, and penetrations with concrete/shotcrete crews; ensure proper waterstop measures Maintain clean, safe work zones; complete daily reports, redlines/as-builts, and material logs.

Support

Provide support for other pool construction activities such as plaster installations, tile repairs, concrete work and installation of specialty accessories such as automatic covering systems, light fixtures and rail equipment.

Qualifications

3-5+ years in plumbing or mechanical piping;

aquatics/pool/spa experience strongly preferred.

Proficiency with Sch 40/80 PVC pipe installations, typically " up to 12" Able to layout and connect equipment from start to finish Able to interpret construction drawings, equipment submittals, and manufacturer instructions. Familiarity with plumbing codes, municipal permitting/inspection processes, and aquatics best practices. Comfortable handling all tools required to complete proper plumbing installations including laser levels, layout tools, and flow/pressure measurement. Valid driver's license; reliable transportation; ability to pass site safety orientations.

Nice to Have (Assets)

Journeyperson Plumber (Red Seal) and/or Gasfitter B Experience with commercial pool systems; confined space, fall protection, WHMIS, First Aid. Basic controls/automation knowledge (Pentair/Hayward/Jandy, BACnet/Modbus gateways). Experience coordinating sleeves and fittings such as skimmers, returns and suction outlets for

concrete

pool shells. Experience with pool finishes such as plaster, tile and finished concrete

Physical & Work Conditions

Lift/carry up to 50 lb; kneel, bend, and work in mechanical rooms and trenches. Indoor/outdoor environments; weather exposure; occasional weekend/overtime to meet pours and start-ups.

Tools & Technology You'll Use

Pipe cutters/bevelers, solvent cements/primers, heat guns, torque wrenches. Pressure test rigs, gauges, flow meters, vacuums. Tablets/phones for plans, RFIs, and documentation (Procore/Drive/Sheets or similar).

Pay: $24.86-$49.34 per hour
