Under the direction of the Operations Backup Day Shift Senior Supervisor Lab/PMA/Rail/Summer Relief, the Polymer Modified Asphalt (PMA) Operator is responsible for the safe operation of the PMA Facility. This includes operation of all types of equipment, pumps, heaters, valves, tanks and control panel consoles. This role will extensively operate a forklift. Additionally, the PMA Operator is responsible for documentation of daily activities. This role interacts with other Offsites personnel and other LR Departments.

Candidates must have the ability to work various hours (day shifts only). Work schedule to be determined Overtime as required based on business needs and schedules This position is based out of our Lloydminster Refinery facility and would require the successful candidate to reside/relocate to the area The applicant will be required to work in a wide variety of conditions due to the nature of the operation (working at heights, in confined spaces, with noise, in extreme weather. conditions, toxic environments, etc.) This is a unionized role (UNIFOR)

What you'll do:



Follow daily instruction sheets and direction by supervision Complete daily operator rounds to support safe operations and meet production targets. These rounds will encompass monitoring process variables & equipment parameters to identify abnormal conditions and carry out appropriate changes Complete work notifications as required, ensure proper coding and adequate detail is given for notifications Support development and maintenance of operating procedures Prepare plant equipment for maintenance as well as issue work permits. Do spot checks and ensure the work is being done in a safe and timely manner. All work performed must be inspected before signing off. Assist in punch outs, walk downs, and PSSRs Complete and log all operations actions (time and description of events and actions taken), daily maintenance schedule, and STP. This includes routine maintenance and housekeeping duties Maintain the car seal and LOTO program for the PMA area Complete required operator training and ensure allocated training hours are met Act as First Response in handling of emergency situations as needed Operation of forklift to handle polymer and sulfur pallets Collaboration with Scalehouse and rail operations personnel to ensure affective delivery of PMA products to end users

Who you are:



Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:


Legally authorized to work in Canada 4th Class power engineering Certificate is required Experience operating forklifts or heavy equipment Previous Operating experience in Refinery or related field (would be considered an asset) Previous experience in Hazard Assessments and LOTO systems (would be considered an asset) 5-10 years working in an industrial setting (would be considered an asset)

As this position has been identified as safety critical, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.


For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
