JOB DESCRIPTION:
PolyCan Health Centre (https://www.polycanhealthcentre.com/) is a 20,000 square foot health care facility providing services in family health care & walk-in care, women’s health, surgical daycare, plastic surgery, sports medicine, ophthalmology, chiropractic, rehabilitation, acupuncture, pain management, preventative care, and medical diagnostic imaging services. We are currently seeking Sports Medicine Physicians interested in establishing a practice in a high-growth area of Burnaby Mountain. Our clinic treats acute and chronic MSK and sports-related injuries, including acute injuries, chronic overuse injuries, concussion management, uncomplicated fracture care, and provides various injection therapies, including visco-supplementation, prolotherapy, PRP, and ultrasound-guided injections.
PolyCan Health Centre is currently partnership with SFU, UBC and Beijing University. Early negotiations are also underway with SFU, Pacific Academic Institute of Chiropractic (PAIC), BCIT, and UBC School of Medicine regarding using the facility for teaching and research.

Requirement:
Graduate from an accredited school of medicine for M.D. (Doctor of Medicine).
Experience working with patients of varying ethnicities, socioeconomic levels, and cultures a plus.
Experience using electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
Good standing with CPSBC
Provide high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary group including physiotherapists, chiropractors, biomechanists, massage therapists and software developers
Prefer strong interest and some experience in musculoskeletal medicine, ideally with CASEM certification
Compensation:
20/80 split
Responsibilities:
Full scope of adult and/or pediatric primary care.
Ability to effectively communicate, verbally & in writing, with all levels of staff and patients.
Must possess strong problem-solving skills and effective time management skills.
Must be able to follow all PCHC protocols, including those related to clinic administration, patient care, and completion of timely chart notes.
Conduct thorough medical assessments and examinations
Determine and recommend treatment and investigations as required
Discuss medical problems, plans and requirements with referral sources maintaining privacy requirements
Provide education sessions for staff, treatment team as required
Collaborate with the team to ensure patients receive an individualized program inclusive of physical, psychosocial and functional aspects of care
