The Policy Control Specialist will be responsible for mitigating regulatory and compliance risks for all pension contract requirements for both Manulife Investments.

The Policy Control Specialist will ensure that all inquiries and/or escalations are acknowledged, investigated, and responded to in an effective and efficient manner.

Successful candidates will be energetic, professional, highly organized, analytical, and proactive in ensuring the delivery of the highest level of service to every customer inquiry or escalation as well as driving through business process improvements through highlighting opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:

o Case reviews from the admin area of high-risk legislative and regulatory requirements for AML, PEFP, Non-residents, Registered products

o Review and advise on all pension contract requirements by case for New Issues, unlocking, marriage breakdown and transfers in and out for GIP Products

o Review, advise and communicate on all Third-Party Legal demands for both GIP Products

o Monitor Eureka communications for clarity and missing information.

o Monitor/review regulatory control reports

Knowledge & Skills:

o Excellent knowledge and understanding of MI contracts including Manulife, Zurich, North American Life and Maritime

o Working knowledge and experience of legal aspects including the Insurance Act, Quebec Civil Code, POA legislation, Trust and Estate Act and all Pension legislations

o Excellent knowledge of administrative functions, policies and procedures

o Knowledge of AWD, PPLUS, IFAST(Base/Desktop), Lotus Notes, Repsource (Advisor portal)

o Effective verbal and written communication skills

o Excellent customer service skills

o Strong organizational skills

o Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook

o Excellent risk assessment skills

o Well-developed analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills

o Organizational and priority management skills with strong attention to detail

o Solution-oriented with demonstrated judgement and decision-making skills.

o Change agent; not only flexible but someone who champions and promotes change.

o Positive-minded team player, easy to work with, collaborative.

Experience/Job Requirements:

o Previous experience with Manulife Investments

o Overtime is required during peak season and when we have high volumes.

o Bilingual (French/English) \xe2\x80\x93 verbal and written communication (asset but not required)

Salary & Benefits

The annual base salary for this role is listed below.

Primary Location Waterloo, Ontario

Salary range is expected to be between $41,025.00 CAD - $68,375.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
