About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Policy and Planning, the Policy and Appointments Coordinator supports policy and planning activities for the department. The role includes being the coordinator for department\'s agencies, boards and commissions and the coordinator for appointments within the department. The Policy and Appointments Coordinator will manage the policies and procedures for the department, coordinate departmental reporting, and provide support for other policy and planning activities.

Primary Accountabilities

This position will be responsible for overseeing the ministerial appointment process for departmental staff and external groups who require appointments to fulfill their duties, as well as coordinating appointments to the department\'s agencies, boards, and commissions. The Policy and Appointments Coordinator supports departmental reporting by collecting information from stakeholders within the Department and compiling the information into well-written reports. The Policy and Appointments Coordinator supports the development of departmental policies and procedures and manages the inventory of policies and procedures. This role may also include providing policy analysis and project management as required.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor\'s Degree in a related discipline plus 3 years related experience or a Master\'s Degree in a related discipline plus 1 year related experience is required. Broad knowledge of government structure, process and mandates is critical, as well as knowledge of policy processes. Attention to detail and strong communication (verbal and written) skills are essential. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills to successfully build support within the department and achieve objectives. Experience leading processes within government would be considered an asset.

Pay Grade: PR 10

Salary Range: $2,251.48 - $2,746.69 Bi-Weekly
