Job Description


Our public sector client in Saskatchewan is currently looking for one (1) Project Manager resource, with information technology experience to manage the discovery and implementation of the Service Now and ITSM project.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful Resource(s) will undertake the subsequent tasks and responsibilities, which include but
are not limited to the following:

  • Overall planning, coordination and governance of the one or more projects;
  • Develop guiding project standards and approaches, deployment working with the vendor and
subject matter experts;
  • Develop dashboards and reporting analytics to show progress;
  • Oversee the application validation and testing and the development of solutions for application
and peripheral compatibility issues;
  • Oversee the financial planning, reporting and tracking;
  • Track vendor progress to statements of works/contracts;
  • Manage project risks and mitigation strategies;
  • Prime for the issue escalation process;
  • Create and manage an exception process for any standards deviation;
  • Provide communications to the partners, stakeholders and users during the project;
  • Manage the organization change associated with this project;
  • Conduct any required project check health activities, where needed, and complete any project
deliverables.This position will report to the Project Management Office (PMO) but be responsible to the project
sponsor, Director of Service Assurance. The individual will be assigned tasks and responsibilities
including, but not limited to:
  • Manage, schedule and coordinate all aspects of the project over the entire project life ;
  • Support an effective, proactive cross-functional project team that may consist of both
management & non-management individuals in an environment that encourages innovation,
teamwork, initiative and open communications; promotes and models the corporate values.
Recognize both personal and team success;
  • Maintain a high level of competency in project management related disciplines;
  • Lead project team members as required, in the successful project implementation, project
planning, project management, coordination, change management & transition, and
communications;
  • Monitor and report project progress to the Director of Service Assurance, Executive Steering
Committee and stakeholders;
  • Communicate to all levels of stakeholders of project using an appropriate method of
communication in a timely manner. Ensure a common understanding by setting expectations in
accordance with the project plan, in order to align the stakeholders and team members;
  • Provide delivery oversight to requirements gathering, detailed design and future state
development;
  • Issue management, escalation and tracking;
  • Decision making support and tracking;
  • Lead, direct and manage project staff to ensure the effective use of HR resources; Maximize
performance by developing, mentoring and sustaining a high degree of expertise amongst
project staff;
  • Organize and direct work including prioritizing assignments, providing regular performance
feedback and taking necessary corrective action as may be required;
  • Participate in bi-weekly PMO meetings with all project managers reporting into the PMO.
  • Other tasks & responsibilities as assigned/required by the Director of Service Assurance.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
The individual must have the following Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience as a Project Manager or Project Director;
  • Certified Project Management designation; and
  • Experience delivering high risk, process oriented IT projects with a budgeted value of two (2)
million or greater within the last 4 years.
Rated Resource Qualifications/Requirements
The ideal Resource will have the following qualifications and have experience fulfilling the following job
requirements.
  • Proven experience in managing large scale IT software implementations and vendor contract
management;
  • Proven experience managing project financials (budget, forecasting, estimates and reporting)
for large scale IT Projects;
  • Proven experience in organizational change management for a significant organizational change
including internal and external communications;
  • Possesses previous experience working in a healthcare and/or research environment;
  • Possesses strong MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio) skills that
will be utilized for data analysis, developing presentations, reports, communications and other
documentation.
  • Possesses strong project planning and estimating skills with the ability to create and manage
WBS (work breakdown structures);
  • Possesses a proven track record at establishing and maintaining excellent interpersonal
relationships with external and internal stakeholders;
  • Possesses knowledge of IT support environment processes and the use of information systems;
  • Possess previous experience in working collaboratively with IT and non-IT stakeholders;
  • Possesses job experience that required task prioritization, pre-planning, resource coordination,
multi-tasking, facilitation, troubleshooting, time management, problem solving, risk
management, and customer service skills;
  • Possess the ability to work independently, or within a team in a fast pace and at times
unstructured environment with changing priorities;
  • Possesses a strong understanding of IT Architecture and Standards; and
  • Possesses a strong familiarity with recent/similar IT platforms and methodologies that are in use
and understands how this project is going to help meet eHealth\'s needs
  • Resource must be located in Regina, Saskatoon or Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
