Independent Mechanical Supply Inc. Plumbing Estimator Position Description



The Plumbing Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating the cost of materials for plumbing projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plumbing estimating, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The incumbent will work closely with the Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Project Quotations, Purchasing, and Operations teams to help to grow business at IMS.



Duties and Responsibilities



Accurately identify and interpret the plumbing products on a job specification, scope of work, or RFQ documents Assemble approval drawing and maintenance manual packages for outside sales representatives and customers Accurately enter quotes into Independent's ERP system Build and maintain strong relationships with customers Coordinate customer returns Maintain system pricing Negotiate project pricing Assist customers in sourcing products and solutions to their technical problems Maintain and update records of project estimates and related documentation Request vendor pricing from multiple vendors Follow up with customers on quoted projects Other duties as assigned

Mandatory Requirements



One year or more experience with and superior knowledge of wholesale plumbing Experience with Office 365, Order Entry Software, and Internet Information Gathering/Research Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven fast paced environment Experience suggesting and implementing changes to processes and procedure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Established history of demonstrating the ability to pay attention to detail Demonstrated leadership skills Presentation skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Order Entry Software and Internet Information Gathering/Research Demonstrated analytical, organizational, planning and team building skills Customer centric - Obsessive about providing excellent customer service.
