JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Plumbing Counter Salesperson is responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to customers in the plumbing department. This includes advising customers on appropriate plumbing merchandise, tools, and supplies. The Plumbing Counter Salesperson should be familiar with plumbing products, pricing, local building codes, and regulations related to plumbing installations. The role requires preparing accurate quotations and assisting customers with product selection and related plumbing needs.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet customers within 30 seconds of their arrival at the plumbing counter. Determine customers' plumbing needs by asking open-ended questions. Effectively communicate product knowledge, features, and benefits to customers. Assist customers with identifying and selecting the right plumbing products, including pipes, fittings, tools, and related accessories. Process special orders for non-stock or out-of-stock plumbing items. Be familiar with and maintain up-to-date information on plumbing product pricing. Have knowledge of local plumbing codes, regulations, and building permits related to plumbing installations. Keep up to date on competitor pricing and plumbing product offerings. Provide customers with solutions to common plumbing problems and product recommendations. Resolve customer complaints and concerns with professionalism and efficiency. Maintain knowledge of current inventory, including surplus plumbing items, to assist customers. Suggest improvements for store policies, procedures, or sales strategies to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction. Maintain confidentiality of store and customer information. Assist with additional tasks and duties as assigned by management. Follow all safety regulations and report potential hazards or unsafe behavior to management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school graduation or equivalent. Previous experience in plumbing retail or a related field is an asset. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays. Friendly, helpful attitude toward customers and a strong focus on customer service. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong mathematical skills for pricing and quotations. Willingness to learn and stay updated on plumbing product knowledge. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Must be fluent in English and French.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
