We are currently seeking a part time Plumbing and electrical associate
This role is responsible for providing prompt, courteous and efficient service to customers. The Plumbing and Electrical Sales Associate advises customers on the appropriate merchandise, processes transactions, tickets and replenishes merchandise and is responsible for the overall housekeeping of the store.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure customers are promptly greeted as they enter the store or your specific department.
Operate Home Hardware software and point of sale equipment.
Assist customers in locating merchandise in the store, online and process any special orders.
Relieve the cashier(s) or other department associates as necessary.
Assist customers with carrying out large or heavy items.
Maintain familiarity with items in inventory and ensure inventory is accurate.
Build special displays and signage for sales, promotions and other events.
Help unload incoming trucks, as required.
Follow procedures and maintain standards according to store policy in the following areas: loss prevention, receiving and pricing goods, merchandise handling and presentation, housekeeping, reordering merchandise, restocking shelves and handling cash.
Work on additional duties, special projects and assignments as assigned by the Department Lead, an Assistant Manager, Store Manager or General Manager.
Qualifications:
Prior retail experience preferred but, but not required
Prior experience in the plumbing and/or electrical field whether in construction or retail.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
Excellent mathematical skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work well in a fast-paced retail environment.
Comfortable working with computers.
Willingness to learn.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere.
Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
