Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Coordinator, Property Management, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Journeyman Plumber is responsible for performing routine maintenance and installation functions on plumbing equipment, installations and components; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Experience

--------------


Five (5) years' experience in the plumbing/steam fitting trade, preferably in a hospital setting.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

Grade XII or recognized equivalent. Successful completion of a recognized Certificate Program in Plumbing.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

----------------------------------------


Valid Journeyman Plumbers License as issued by the Manitoba Department of labour or equivalent. Valid Back Flow Prevention Certification. A or B Gas Ticket.

Qualifications and Skills

-----------------------------


Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings and diagrams. General knowledge of plumbing codes and steam principles. Mathematical skills. Good communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Steam fitter.

Physical Requirements

Physically able to carry and move loads up to 34 kgs. Manual dexterity.
