Responsibilities:
At Tritech, we aim to provide opportunities that are challenging, fast-paced, that effectively utilize the skills of our team members, and provides variety in day-to-day tasks.
The job responsibilities for this role includes:

  • Install underground process and plumbing piping systems (HDPE, PVC, Ductile Iron, Steel, Copper etc.) ranging from ½” - 60” diameter.
  • Install process equipment (pumps, mixers, blowers, compressors, gates, valves)
  • Inspect, pressure test, and disinfect piping prior to system testing.
  • Observe and apply all Provincial Building, Plumbing, and Natural Gas codes, installation requirements, and other relevant legislation to installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout and requirements for plumbing and related materials.
  • Identify the required tools and special equipment necessary to complete the site and shop project works.
  • Locate layout and mark positions for plumbing connections and fixtures.
  • Provide training, supervision, and support to Apprentice Plumbers.
  • Perform various tasks on the labor crew to support mechanical/civil operations.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Plumber or Pipefitter ticket
  • Experience in construction and/or water/wastewater treatment industries
  • Experience with the installation of a variety of civil, process and plumbing piping (HDPE, PVC, Ductile Iron, Steel, Stainless Steel, Copper etc.) ranging from ½” - 60” is an asset
  • Experience installing equipment, such as pumps, mixers, blowers, compressors, gates, and valves is an asset
  • Physically fit to be able to lift large weights and climb in and out of trenches, manholes, etc.
  • Highly organized and motivated to carry out a variety of duties (cleanup, etc.)
  • Knowledge of safe hoisting and rigging procedures is an asset
  • Construction Safety Training Systems Certificate (CSTS)
  • First Aid Level 1 or 2
  • Confined Space Entry training is an asset
  • Aptitude to problem solve and think “outside the box”
  • Ability to work effectively independently and within a team
  • Interest in moving into a foreman position in the future
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal
  • Ability to function well in a changing environment
  • Willing to learn on and off the job
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract
