The SAAS Platform Manager will provide oversight and coordination across all technical functions at Timeless Veterinary Systems. The role is responsible for stabilizing the company's software platform, reducing operational risk, and ensuring the development team is working in a coordinated and sustainable manner. Exceptional leadership skills are essential for leading through the processes of cross-training, effective delegation, and organizational planning.
This position exists to create structure, accountability, and continuity within a small development group. The Platform Manager will implement cross-training, documentation, and process standards in order to build capacity that ensures the PACS, DICOM Viewer and Web-based applications/platform remain reliable and scalable as the organization grows.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership and Coordination
Manage and support the technical team, including developers, support, and related roles.
Define clear roles, responsibilities, and lines of accountability, and encourage delegation and effective business continuity practices.
Establish consistent communication practices and technical check-ins.
Identify skill gaps and implement cross-training to ensure technical capacity and coverage.
Promote documentation and shared ownership of systems and codebases.
2. Platform Operations and Stability
Oversee the performance, uptime, and reliability of all production systems, including the PACS platform, Dicom Viewer and associated web applications/platform.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and response protocols for outages or system issues.
Maintain version control, release management, and rollback procedures.
Ensure infrastructure, databases, and hosting environments are appropriately maintained and backed up.
Develop and document disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
3. Technical Oversight and Risk Management
Write code along with the team as needed in developing new functionality and features for the Timeless Veterinary Platform. Including developing and managing AI applications and integration
Assess current system dependencies, risks, and areas without redundancy.
Prioritize remediation efforts to reduce exposure from single points of failure.
Review and validate technical design decisions, deployment processes, and resource utilization.
Coordinate testing and validation before releases.
Oversee vendor relationships and ensure service levels are met.
Work with the support team to ensure SLA's are met and customer satisfaction remains at over 95%
4. Process and Delivery Management
Introduce predictable work planning practices, such as lightweight sprint cycles or release calendars.
Align technical priorities with business and operational goals in coordination with the COO.
Track and communicate progress, risks, and capacity.
Maintain visibility into all active projects, ensuring resource balance and delivery timelines are achievable.
5. Security and Compliance
Ensure secure access controls, encryption, and audit logging are maintained across systems.
Oversee proper handling of veterinary imaging data within privacy and compliance requirements.
Develop internal policies and technical safeguards that align with applicable data protection laws.
QualificationsRequired
Minimum 7 years of experience in software engineering or platform operations.
At least 3 years in a technical leadership or management capacity.
Experience with PACS, DICOM, or other medical imaging systems.
Strong background in managing or architecting SaaS or web-based systems.
Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Proven ability to implement documentation, redundancy, and process discipline in small teams.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred
Experience in DevOps, infrastructure management, or site reliability engineering.
Familiarity with data privacy and security requirements related to medical or veterinary records.
Prior experience in a startup or small-company environment.
