We're looking for a technically skilled and collaborative engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about building resilient, secure, and high-performing platforms.
This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at Vancity head office. Our head office is based in Vancouver, but we are open to candidates in BC and Ontario. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands when needed.
How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Implementing platform solutions that support lending workflows, leveraging SaaS and on-premise technologies
  • Designing and developing reusable components and APIs optimized for lending products and future Minimum Viable Products

  • Enhancing platform monitoring, availability, and performance for lending services using Splunk and other observability tools
  • Troubleshooting lending platform issues and communicating effectively with impacted business and technology teams
  • Producing operational health artifacts and metrics that reflect platform stability and lending-specific KPIs
  • Driving revenue growth by building and optimizing scalable loan origination platforms and reducing operational costs through automating DevOps pipelines
  • Building modular, API-first platforms that enable rapid launch of new lending products (e.g., BNPL, small business loans, green loans)
What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in platform engineering or DevOps, preferably in financial services or lending domains
  • Proven experience with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance for regulated environments
  • Strong knowledge of API development and reusable component design for financial applications
  • Experience with Splunk or similar monitoring tools for transaction-heavy systems
  • Familiarity with SaaS and on-premise infrastructure solutions supporting secure financial operations
You'll Thrive Here If You Are:
  • Collaborative - You work well across teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders
  • Detail-Oriented - You take pride in creating reliable, secure, and well-documented systems
  • Resilient - You stay calm and focused when troubleshooting complex issues
  • Curious - You continuously seek to improve systems and learn new technologies
We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.
