Weldco-Beales Manufacturing designs and manufactures specialized heavy equipment attachments for the construction, forestry, mining, scrap recycling, road maintenance and resource industries throughout Canada, the USA and internationally. Our manufacturing facility located in Edmonton, Alberta is currently recruiting a Plate Room operator for Day Shift. Reporting to the General Foreman the Plate Room Operator is responsible for gathering steel from storage areas in facilities using the forklift and overhead crane.

  • Organize plate room and ensure proper stock of steel
  • Gather steel from storage areas in facilities using forklift and overhead crane
  • Communicate with delivery personnel regarding new stock
  • Unloading and loading of trucks
  • Assist nesters, burn table operators and other staff with steel plate needs as necessary
Your qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience is considered an asset
  • High School Diploma
  • Overhead crane and rigging training and experience is considered an asset
What you bring to the position:
  • Knowledge of proper rigging techniques
  • Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
  • Time management, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Excellent safety record
