Plate Laser Supervisor

to work in our Leamington, Ontario location.

JOB TITLE: Plate Laser Supervisor

Reports to: Plant Manager & Prep Manager

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

PROGRAMMING

Program parts efficiently to CAD using Radan Look through each job after the production manager has released it to specify what machine to schedule it on. Mark up process sheets according to E-drawing to avoid future issues. Safe and efficient operation of the laser and process to sheet specifications within the tolerance guidelines verifying all dimensions and notes on process sheets given. Communicate with productions manager and supervisor for programing/ cutting/ sorting priority Communicate with engineering when process sheets don't match BOM or critical dimensions are not clear. Keep files properly named and saved for future use. Transfer cutting files to machine line. Deleting finished files from machine to avoid over producing and or cutting wrong revisions should a repeat order come in. Safely set up plate laser, materials, nests, and programming per standards. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measurement devices as required. Read work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances, proper labeling of parts, etc., and accurately complete all required functions to ensure only quality product is produced. Double check nests versus E-Data Send material lists to purchasing Follow up on material bought Keep track of when jobs are due Keep the plate laser workflow up to date Line sorting up daily Work with sorting line lead to make sure everything is up to par Accurately document/record information: enter, record, store or maintain information in written or electronic form. Support achievement of company standards in safety, efficiency, on-time production, etc. Ensure all products adhere to the production specifications of the customer Read and interpret blue prints and process sheets Read a tape measure to take critical measurements Maintain safe work practices Participate in continuous improvements, 5S and 8 Waste initiatives, including and not limited to processes, production flow etc. Perform all other duties as required Mandatory cross training required; training will be provided.

SCHEDULING

Communicate cutting priorities with productions manager and supervisor Ensure all material is in before cutting a job Ensure cutting schedule is kept updated. Line up jobs in a prompt organized fashion Assure jobs are set up in a safe, efficient running manor.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Trouble shoot lasers when issues arise, Train operators how to fix basic machine issues. Keep supervisor informed on all issues that arise.

MAINTENANCE

Maintain Plate Lasers and area. Contact Mazak/ trumpf for parts and service when needed for Quote only. Only replace parts with Mazak / trumpf manufactured parts. Keep consumables inventory Schedule weekly cleaning and maintenance.

TRAINING

Responsible for training new plate laser operators the machine functions, machine safety, lockout procedures, entering parts into E-Data, and labeling for sorting. Remain accessible to all hourly employees for assistance, guidance and support whenever needed. Assure all employees are provided with the necessary tools to accomplish their task on the job Continuous monitoring of all facets in the manufacturing process with emphasis on improving quality, efficiency and safety Ensure all problems are identified, logged and corrected prior to completing the run Ensure all facets of the process adhere to OHSA standards & Essex Weld Solutions safety standards and all rules and regulations are enforced, and corrected. Assure all employees are trained, and adhere to the H&S rules and regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Diploma in CNC an asset High School Education
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES REQUIRED

1+ year experience in a manufacturing setting 1+ years in Laser / CNC operation and programming considered an asset Strong blueprint reading Team Leading/ Supervisory skills
