POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Our client, in Fredericton, New Brunswick is currently seeking a Plastic Surgeon. The position offers an opportunity for a busy surgical practice in general plastic surgery including hands, reconstruction, and cosmetic surgery.

JOB DUTIES:

Provide outpatient and inpatient service for assessment and management of new and follow-up patients.

Participate in an equally shared on-call rotation.

Teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students.

Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority\'s mission, values and strategic directions.

Other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Department of Plastic Surgery.

HOURS OF WORK:

As per assigned schedule

REMUNERATION:

Fee for Service

Remuneration is fee-for-service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare of New Brunswick.

QUALIFICATIONS:

A medical degree is required.

Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or American Board Certification in Plastic Surgery; In circumstances where no qualified Canadian trained applicants are available, equivalent certification may be considered as long as they qualify for licensure in the Province of New Brunswick.

In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.

Physically able to perform assign duties.

ABOUT THE FACILITY:

The Chalmers Hospital is a regional referral hospital with all major surgical services on site with the exception of cardiac and neurosurgery. With 314 beds and a 9-bed intensive care unit, the Chalmers Hospital serves a catchment population of approximately 175,000. It is also a training site for the Dalhousie University Family Medicine Program.
