Duties & Responsibilities

Fabricate, install, and repair metal guarding, platforms, and structural components within the plant. Perform safe and efficient welding, fabrication, and assembly of metal structures and components using cutters, shapers, and precision measuring tools. Utilize MCAW and FCAW welding techniques to complete work to specification and quality standards. Set up, operate, and maintain welding and fabrication equipment to ensure safe and reliable performance. Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure alignment with safety and quality expectations. Complete all required safety documentation, including Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHAs) and risk assessments. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Participate actively in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate effectively with plant operations personnel to plan and execute work efficiently. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Qualification

Red Seal Certification (Welder) A minimum of 4-5 years of related industrial experience, specifically in a maintenance capacity within a mining or similar heavy industrial environment. Completion of Grade 12. Valid Driver's License.

Technical Competencies & Skills

Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts; on a 8x6 rotation. Self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Physical fitness to perform labor-intensive tasks, including working at heights and in tight areas. Understanding of mining processes and mine monitoring control systems (operations and maintenance). Good English communication skills both oral and written. Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions. Proven safety and attendance record. Knowledge of computer maintenance systems.
