Our permitted hazardous waste treatment facility located outside of Princeton, BC, utilizes thermal desorption technology to treat a wide range of industrial waste and contaminated soil.

The Opportunity



ETL is looking for a motivated Plant Millwright Apprentice with proven experience to join our team.

The Plant Millwright Apprentice works under the direction of the Designated Supervisor and works with other employees within the company to ensure safe work practices and policies, compliances and regulations are adhered.

The Plant Millwright Apprentice will perform and document the installation, assembly, repair, dismantling and preventative maintenance on our stationary industrial machinery in accordance with regulations, codes, permits, approved drawings and specifications. This position also requires the Plant Millwright Apprentice to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, chemical injection system, conveyor system, or pneumatic system issues with associated machinery and equipment. Other responsibilities involve physical labour at the Work Site.

The Plant Millwright Apprentice will work closely with facility staff to create a positive and safe working environment, be a resource to management and facility staff for health and safety information and promote health and safety programs in the workplace.

Requirements



Enrolled in Millwright Program or working toward Red Seal designation. High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year Millwright experience. Basic understanding of office computer software and systems. Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to reliable transportation.

Core Job Duties



Maintain, test, troubleshoot, service, and repair industrial equipment

Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, code specifications, and schematics in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and repair equipment

Installation and commissioning of components

Welding, cutting, pipe fitting, and general fabrication

Diagnose, locate the cause of, and repair malfunctioning systems and components

Maintain workshop, storage facilities and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe manner

Maintain an accurate equipment service, maintenance, and repair record

Ensure all work performed adheres to all relevant organizational, provincial, and federal safety regulations, codes and specifications

Responsible for tool inventory and maintenance

Liaise with suppliers and outside contractors for major repairs or upgrades

Assist in design and upgrades of new or replacement equipment

Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with co-workers and customers

Maintain a recorded inventory of consumable mechanical parts for facility operation

Perform mechanical, electrical and all other energy-source disconnects when required for lock out or facility repair

Participate in facility upgrade planning

This safety-sensitive position must be filled immediately. Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required for this safety-sensitive position as immediate site access is required.
