Polykon Manufacturing LLC, owned and operated by Seppic, is located in Sandston, Virginia approximately 20 miles East of Richmond. The plant began operation in 2020 with an overall concept designed to incorporate the highest levels of manufacturing quality for cosmetic and pharmaceutical ingredients. All of the (GMP) Good Manufacturing Practices are integrated at the product flow level as well as at the individual flow level. Our units are all outfitted with a self-cleaning system and are heavily automated for consistent and easily traceable quality. The 65,000 sq.ft. manufacturing production plant has been designed with a minimal-waste or emission objective. The best available techniques were used to reduce waste and emissions to a strict minimum at their origin. The principles of recycling have been systematically adopted and final discharge treatment systems have been installed at the vent and waste-water levels to ensure there is minimal impact on the environment. This facility is ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, and RSPO certified.

The Plant Engineer will be responsible for designing and executing effective maintenance plans for production equipment as well as facilities and utilities. Types of production equipment include: reactors, vessels, vacuum pumps, motors, sensors, probes, packaging equipment, etc. Facilities and utilities equipment include: boilers, chillers, air handling units, security and fire systems, wastewater equipment, bulk storage, etc. Responsibilities also include collaborating with his/her counterparts in production to ensure the plant operates reliably.

Utilize CMMS to develop and track reliability KPIs

Solicit quotes from contractors/equipment vendors

Manage capital projects both locally and in conjunction with the French engineering team

Develop maintenance departmental procedures, equipment maintenance practices

Conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective actions around equipment failures

Perform reliability risk assessments, assessments for compliance with applicable safety and quality standards, and develop critical spare parts list.

Implement data collection programs for reliability analysis such as oil analysis, vibration analysis, and Infrared thermography analysis.

Assist in planning shutdown events for maintenance activities.

Be a subject matter resource for maintenance technicians and other departments

Requirements

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering a plus)

2+ years of Plant Engineering experience in a chemical industry

Experience working with a maintenance department in a manufacturing plant

Experience managing projects

Experience with industrial safety practices and regulations, automation systems and equipment controls, and Good Documentation and Manufacturing Practices

Good written and verbal communication skills

Able to interpret P&IDs, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings

Strong organizational skills

High level of attention to detail

Strong problem solving skills

Preferred

5+ years of Plant Engineering experience in a chemical industry

The salary range for this position in Sandston VA is:

2-4 years experience - $80k to $95k

5+ years of experience - $90k to 110k
