Job Description


Our client, a manufacturer in the paper industry is looking for a Plant Engineer. Under the supervision of the Technical and Maintenance Manager, the Plant Engineer plays a central role in coordinating the maintenance of production equipment and infrastructure. In addition to supervising personnel, he/she is responsible for parts procurement and subcontractor management, while ensuring regulatory compliance.His main responsibilities include:

  • Supervising maintenance teams and providing them with technical support
  • Managing and carrying out technical projects such as equipment installation or modification, safety systems, and the\'space optimization
  • Prepare the technical documentation associated with these projects
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and corrective actions
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality management initiatives
  • ;continuous improvement and occupational health and safety (OHS) management initiatives
  • Participate in OHS committee meetings and oversee risk analyses
  • Approve technical drawings and keep equipment documentation up to date
  • Manage the maintenance budget and negotiate with suppliers

  • Motivate and manage team performance
  • Communicate department objectives and participate in the recruitment and training of specialist staff
  • Participate in operational meetings to ensure effective coordination.
In addition, he takes on several challenges, including maintaining and improving equipment performance, upgrading safety systems, introducing a computerized preventive maintenance program and organizing spare parts management. Profile
  • University degree in engineering required
  • Registration with the Ordre des ing\xc3\xa9nieurs du Qu\xc3\xa9bec (OIQ) mandatory
  • Ideally five (5) to seven (7) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in industrial maintenance management and in a manufacturing environment (an asset)
  • Minimum of two (2) years\'experience in maintenance management
  • Proven experience in supervising work teams
  • Mastery of computer tools essential
  • Previous experience in the paper, printing and/or packaging industries is appreciated;printing and/or packaging is appreciated
  • Solid planning, prevention and rigor skills required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage stress and priorities
  • Positive leadership
  • Good strategic vision of the work to be accomplished while ensuring continuous improvement in procedures and processes.
