We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller with a strong cost accounting background to join our leadership team and support our ongoing growth.

Job Summary

The Plant Controller will serve as the financial leader for the facility, reporting directly to senior management. This role oversees all plant-level financial activities, including cost accounting, and financial reporting, while managing a small accounting team. The Controller will be responsible for delivering accurate analysis that supports operational decision-making, with a focus on cost management, profitability, and process improvement.

Job Responsibilities




Lead all accounting functions including general ledger, AR, AP, payroll, and month-end close. Responsible for the timely month end and year-end close process, including preparation of financial statements for the corporate office; including monthly statements, year-end closing documentation, and various reports. Maintain and enhance product costing models in a high-mix manufacturing environment. Perform variance analysis (labor, materials, overhead) and communicate findings to management. Prepare cash position, forecasts, and financial plans in alignment with business objectives. Oversee inventory accounting, cycle counts, and capital project tracking. Partner with operations to support lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives. Manage reporting tools within Epicor Kinetic ERP, ensuring reliable financial and operational insights. Supervise and develop a small accounting support team, fostering accountability and collaboration. Review costs of manufacturing, overhead and G&A expense analysis, and provide recommendation for overhead absorption rates and cost management initiatives. Participates in the annual strategic goal setting Facilities and completes corporate requests and audits. May perform other tasks as deemed appropriate



Education and Skill Requirement




Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA designation preferred. Overall 5 to 10 years experience in Accounting with a minimum of 3+ years in cost accounting or plant controllership roles. Experience in high-mix manufacturing required; foundry or heavy manufacturing experience preferred. Experience in managing and leading a team Strong MS Office Suite skills including Power BI preferred Strong ERP experience required; Epicor strongly preferred. Proven technical accounting, variance analysis, and financial reporting skills Strong leadership and team development skills. Hands-on approach with the ability to collaborate across departments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities. High integrity and commitment to a positive, engaged workforce
