BURNCO is looking to hire full-time and part-time Plant Assistants for our Ready-Mix division in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Plant Assistant will carry out routine maintenance of our facilities which will require the ability to work safely with and around heavy equipment while performing manual labour for extended periods. The successful candidate must have their own transportation with the ability to work at various plant locations around the city. What You Will Be Doing
  • General plant duties as assigned by your Supervisor
  • Travel daily during your shift to other sites to unload Mixers
  • Ensure the work areas remain clean and free from clutter and build-up
  • Follow and promote BURNCO's safety program, ensuring all policies are followed
What We Would Like From You

Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Class 5 Drivers License and clean Drivers abstract in order to operate BURNCO trucks
  • Construction and/or Concrete plant experience is preferred
  • Eligibility to work under the BURNCO Employee Association (BEA)
Skills
  • Flexible to work shifts that include overtime, evenings and weekends as required
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently or positively in a team environment
  • Reliable and punctual - we will be counting on you
  • Able to take direction to meet assigned responsibilities
  • Record of working safely on various sites and around heavy equipment
  • Capable to perform manual physical labour in conditions that may include varying weather and temperature, as well as heavy lifting (over 23+ kg to 50+ lbs)
IMPORTANT: As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that selected candidate successfully pass comprehensive pre-employment testing that includes a Background Check, a Drug and Alcohol screen and Fitness to Work testing. Please note that we have a zero tolerance policy for any Cannabis derived products regardless of use frequency or purpose.
