Planner/scheduler (pipefitter/ Welder)

Job Description




In this role, you will be responsible for planning and preparing production schedules for fabrication, installation, and maintenance of industrial process systems. Working with all levels of supervision to ensure projects, outages and shutdowns and maintenance are properly, thoroughly, and safely planned and implemented by developing the sequence and lead time to meet the client forecasted master schedule. Additionally, they are responsible for working with designated procurement staff to ensure that any necessary materials and supplies are available to facilitate efficient and effective work schedules.

This position is rotational temporary work in Carseland AB and reports to the District Manager or District Manager\xe2\x80\x99s delegate.

You will have a Welder or Pipefitter background.

What would you be doing?

  • Work in conjunction with Site Management Team and Client lead effective project planning and scheduling.
  • Ensure all spending is approved by the Project Manager.
  • Maintain master schedule for the project and identifies and records the impact of work performed and not performed as scheduled.
  • Responsible for the delivery of periodic project reports with accuracy and timeliness being essential.
  • Utilize custom layouts including critical path analysis, baseline comparisons, and look-ahead.
  • Facilitate effective front-end planning, construction, and turnover phases of the project. Ensure effect workplace planning is place with seamless interface with the project schedule. Work closely with Project Controls for integrated reporting.
  • Oversee the progress and productivity of all aspects of the project, with the ability to recognize areas of concern and develop/purpose solutions to in a time sensitive manner.
  • Monitor changes and provide what-if analysis and planning solutions.
  • Provide recommendations and ideas to improve the overall planning and scheduling process.
  • Ensure that all work being planned and scheduled adheres to the highest safety standards. Foster a positive safety environment and incorporate new information and feedback into planning and schedules.
  • Review contractor schedules and ensure contractor plans are realistic, achievable, and integrated into the Master Schedule.
  • Facilitate effective front-end planning, construction, and turnover phases of the project.

  • Ability to interpret, evaluate and apply regulations, policies and procedures to a wide variety of work situations.
  • Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications
  • Displays a safe and productive work ethic
  • Post-secondary degree in a related technical field or combination of training and experience deemed to be appropriate for the role.
  • Minimum 5 years planning experience in a related industrial role.
  • Experience using Primavera P6.
  • Up to date safety tickets
