Our Sobeys Supply Chain Planning and Analytics team is currently looking for a Planner Transportation to contribute to our high standards of service to our customers.
If you have experience in logistics, have the eye for precision and details and like challenges, then this role is for you. You can also work remotely up to 2 days a week with 3 in-office days expectations.Here\'s where you\'ll be focusing:

  • Utilize the transportation route planning software to provide efficient daily delivery schedule solutions as per the order process schedule.
  • Distribute the routing reports to various users at the Retail Support Centers, third party carriers and Discount.
  • Maintain and update the access data bases and issue daily reports.
  • Communicate changes in the delivery schedule (rush orders, add-ons, transfers etc.) to Operations.
  • Maintain the transportation routing system (ie. Delivery criteria and road network)
  • Follow planning SOPs and update them.
  • Perform analysis to ensure the routing system is effective.
  • Analyze store data, routing, and delivery schedules, comparing costs between current and proposed store windows.
  • Benchmark RSC weekly transportation KPI\'s providing opportunities for improvements.
  • Analyze the daily routing scheduling solutions and data to ensure the quality of the dispatch log for on-time delivery, efficient RSC and carrier operations.
  • Validate all carrier changes.
  • Investigate /correct any store complaints.
  • Follow-up to ensure all special requests are done weekly/daily.
What you have to offer:
  • Relevant designation/ credentials in logistics, supply chain, and/ or transportation (CITT, CPIM or PMAC, ERP).
  • Experience within large retailers, Distribution Centre, and Warehouse operations.
  • Experience using current logistics technology as it applies to transportation management.
  • Knowledge of National and International transportation legislation including safety regulations.
  • Experienced with detailed financial management experience specifically P and L management as it relates to inventory, warehousing, and transportation.
