What you can expect to do here

• Assist in preparing and coordinating planning studies, zoning by-laws, official plans, secondary plans, and community improvement plans
• Conduct research and analysis to support planning studies tailored to various municipal contexts
• Support project managers with invoicing, scheduling, and project tracking
• Contribute to community engagement activities in virtual and hybrid formats
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including urban design, landscape architecture, and engineering
• Stay current with planning trends and legislation to support innovative solutions

What you'll bring to WSP

• A degree in Planning, Environmental Studies, Communications, Public Policy, Geography, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in municipal or consulting environments (recent grads may be considered)
• Strong interest in municipal planning, public policy, and land use regulation
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Knowledge of provincial land use planning legislation and its application
• Experience or interest in public consultation and engagement
• Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or urban design principles (an asset)
• Eligibility for Full Membership in OPPI and CIP
• Valid Ontario Driver's License
