Please note: We work in a hybrid environment. The successful candidate will be working out one of our Production Sites (located in Calgary, Vancouver, Winnipeg, St. John\'s, Dartmouth, Brampton, and Ottawa) with a mixture of on and off-site work based on the parameters for our operations to meet the needs of our donors, our staff and our communities. Currently, employees are expected to have an in-person presence for at least 40% of their work time. This requirement is subject to change, based on operational needs.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Planner to join our dynamic Integrated Supply Chain Planning Team.

The Integrated Supply Chain Planning Team strives to improve Canadian Blood Services\' approach to supply planning and inventory management across the supply chain, through the implementation of best practices, policies, programs, tools, and systems. This group functions as the central coordination team for ensuring that our products supply is balanced with expected demand and that supply and inventory impacts are considered, understood, and mitigated in alignment with organizational expectations for projects and programs that may impact supply.

In this role you will be responsible for planning across the Integrated Supply Chain in the short-term and long-term planning horizons. You will be responsible for developing, managing and providing input into national collections plan and schedule for transfusable products or plasma protein and related products (PPRP) in their assigned location based on national and regional demand forecasts, as well as monitoring performance and operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leveraging your excellent analytical skills, you will monitor and analyze data from a wide variety of inputs.
  • Drawing on your proficiency in statistics, data-processing, forecasting, you will produce and communicate planning scenarios.
  • Utilizing your exceptional collaboration, facilitation and influencing skills you will facilitate meeting/discussions with key stakeholders.
  • Drawing on your continuous improvement mindset you will identify and track changes.
  • Leveraging your experience, you will recognize and comprehend organizational "hot spots" and focus diverse groups on common organizational outcomes.
  • Drawing on your experience you will gather, analyze, and validate data related to the supply plan.
Education, Training and Experience:
  • Completion of post-secondary education, a university degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Degree in Supply Chain Operations, Planning, Finance, Project Management or Continuous Improvement is an asset.
  • Minimum of Three to five years of related experience in supply chain operations.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated, analytical, organizational, decision making and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, influencing and negotiation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, data-processing, and forecasting, with an understanding of the financial and operational impacts.
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies and/or Project Management is an asset.
  • Demonstrated management and administrative skills, with knowledge of and experience in Management (theory and practice).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • SAP competency/experience in specific analytical tool implementation would be beneficial.

What you can expect
  • This role will work in a hybrid environment with requirements to be onsite at one of our Canadian Blood Services Production Sites within Canada 40% of the time.
  • Travel requirements - travel will be required for continuous improvement exercises, team meetings and conferences. Travel will be within Canada and in some cases the United States.
