Job Summary

The Planner, Boilermaker will be accountable for creating work packages necessary for the successful completion of future maintenance work at the refinery. This includes related daily, weekly, and annual maintenance events across all departments, determining the most cost effective and cost efficient solutions in line with the Asset Management Strategy in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Accountabilities

  • Establish and document the sequence and relationship of a series of actions and requirements prior to maintenance work commencing.
  • Evaluate procedures, gather feedback, provide technical guidance, and make recommendations to enhance the maintenance program.
  • Manage and maintain planning related CMMS data, technical data, and equipment data.
  • Procure and plan the parts, resources, and tools required to deliver the work plan.
  • Review and evaluate completed work orders and repair reports to optimize equipment life cycle and schedule proactive actions.
  • Principle contact and liaison between Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Review and provide input on schedules, minimizing equipment downtime and repair time.
  • Measure and track metrics and continuously improve.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Technologist diploma, or Journeyman Technician in maintenance related discipline.
  • Knowledge of enterprise asset management and information management systems, and how they are used.
  • Knowledge of towers/columns, and exchangers and related repair/replacement of trays, bundle pulling and repair, as well as plugging and/or replacement of tubes.
  • Must be able to identify materials from prints, and required crane support and rigging.
  • Strong computer skills (specifically with Microsoft Office).
  • Maintenance planning, scheduling, and shutdown management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in an operating facility.
  • Skills in process analysis and optimization.
