Planned Care Customer Service Coordinator (one Year Contract)

The Planned Care team works with International Insurers to arrange care at locations abroad.

As a Customer Service Coordinator for the Planned Care department you are assisting the Case Management team in the coordination and management of eligible, medical benefits for overseas medical services. Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for all administrative functions regarding the receiving and processing of client documentation and workload distribution. You will be required to ensure accuracy and quality of work while respecting time constraints.

What does your typical day look like?

  • You will be a first point of contact for patients and family members, helping them to understand the next step in their health care journey;
  • You will work hand in hand with Case Coordinators to answer questions from providers and members;
  • When a patient or provider first contact us, you will open the initial case and assess the urgency of the situation, ensuring that medical emergencies are escalated to the Case Management team immediately;
  • You will help to ensure that the information we need to manage the medical situation is accessible and accurate, by building cases, monitor incoming emails & faxes, and recording/adding this information to the claims system.
What skills and experience do you need?
  • A college diploma (or equivalent) combined with experience in customer service;
  • Must have work experience in customer service, telecommunications, or in the medical field;
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills;
  • Possess proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products;
  • Capacity to work efficiently with people in a fast-paced, team-based environment;
  • Have good problem-solving skills;
  • Show empathy, understanding, patience and attention to detail while at the same time being professional and resourceful.
