Nechako Lumber Co. Ltd.

Nechako

began production in 1969, purchasing rough lumber from bush mills located around the Vanderhoof area. With the addition in 1973 of the L&M Lumber sawmill, the site focused its supply chain on the abundance of small profile timber that was available as a result of large scale clearing of agricultural land in the Vanderhoof area. The sawmill has maintained its dominance in small diameter timber processing, utilizing a product that was previously piled and burned, creating value and reducing waste. In 2017, L&M Lumber was merged into Nechako Lumber Co. Ltd.

In addition to the lumber manufacturing operations, Nechako Lumber Co. Ltd. operates Premium Pellet Ltd., which turns sawdust and planer shavings into wood pellets for domestic heating and power production.

The Opportunity - Planer Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Operations Superintendent, the

Planer Production Supervisor

is responsible for the safe and efficient planning, organizing the processes and procedures of the team on the production shift. The Planer Production Supervisor will manage the day-to-day performance of the production team, provide leadership, training, and support including a collaborative and positive working rapport between the maintenance and the production team. A strong combination of technical knowledge, business acumen and leadership, and working closely with operational management, supervisory staff and employees to ensure a high level of safety, operational, financial, and quality performance.

Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build a rapport and work with integrity Previous supervisory experience is an asset Proven ability to be detail oriented and organized Demonstrates a high level of professionalism with stakeholders Prioritizes multiple projects and tasks, demonstrates strong problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong computer and software skills Proven commitment to safety management and leadership

The salary range for this position is $100,964 - $106,767 annually.
