ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role, you will work closely with the PLAA team to coordinate and support the acquisition and management of all required permits, licenses, approvals, and agreements. You will help track conditions, obligations, and milestones outlined in the Project Agreement, ensuring commitments are met and documentation is accurate and up to date. Acting as a liaison between internal teams, authorities, and external stakeholders, you will contribute to effective coordination, compliance, and timely project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Support PLAA senior staff in obtaining and managing permits, licenses, approvals, and agreements.
Assist the PLAA Manager with scheduling, coordinating, and attending meetings with municipalities and external stakeholders.
Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up action items for PLAA-related meetings.
Maintain and update the PLAA Tracking System to monitor the status and progress of approvals throughout the project.
Liaise with internal project teams to gather information and communicate PLAA status, requirements, and updates.
Coordinate PLAA and Lands activities with interdisciplinary teams, including design, consulting, and construction groups.
Collect, organize, and submit documentation required for permit applications and regulatory approvals.
Perform additional duties as assigned while supporting a collaborative and team-oriented work environment.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
0-3 years of professional experience, with a strong interest in major infrastructure and transit projects.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements, third-party permits, approval processes, and property-related approvals relevant to large infrastructure and transit projects.
General understanding of applicable legislation and approval frameworks, including provincial and municipal acts and conservation authority requirements.
Experience in the design and/or construction industry or on major infrastructure projects is considered an asset.
Proficiency with common desktop and project tools, including MS Office, Adobe, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and SharePoint.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
Eligibility for or pursuit of a professional designation (e.g., EIT, GIT, RPP, PMP, OAA, or similar) is considered an asset.
