Gravel Pits & Quarry Supervisor
Winnipeg, Manitoba
Our client, Maple Leaf Construction Ltd., is hiring an experienced Gravel Pits and Quarry Supervisor to oversee daily operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant material extraction. This role includes team management, the oversight of equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
As the Gravel Pits & Quarry Supervisor, you will:

  • Supervise quarry and gravel pit operations to ensure efficient material extraction.
  • Enforce safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor material quality and maintain production schedules.
  • Develop and implement production plans, track performance, and report regular production metrics.
  • Handle the ordering of supplies, tools, and materials, ensuring operations run smoothly.
  • Work closely with the Aggregate Manager and Quality Control Manager to meet production targets and specifications.
  • Train new employees in quarry operations, safety procedures, and equipment use.
  • Coordinate with Dispatch for equipment moves for crushing setups.
You and Your Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. A degree or diploma in a relevant field is an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in gravel pit, quarry, or heavy construction operations.
  • Proven experience in supervising or managing teams in a quarry or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mining and extraction operations, including safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of quarry equipment, including crushers, screeners, and excavators.
  • Ability to interpret site plans, production schedules, and safety reports.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software (Microsoft Office, spreadsheet tools, etc.)
  • Certification in mine safety or related fields.
  • Experience with project management or budgeting.
