This position will be responsible for providing project design support to the Project Management team.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
Reporting to the Project Manager - the Piping CAD Designer will:
Prepare precise, detailed mechanical drawings including plant layout, piping layout, and isometric drawings
Revising and updating drawings based upon client feedback and project changes
Establish system requirements
Perform functional analyses
Define design criteria
Prepare engineering calculations
Develop technical specifications, data sheets and reports
Ensure drawings meet customer specifications, and are in accordance with all applicable project codes and standards
Assist Project Managers with daily duties
Build positive relations with internal and external customers
Attending and participating in meetings
Provide clear and detailed information to the Project Management Team and clients about project analysis and design
Serve customer needs by addressing inquiries as required
Collaborating with all stakeholders
Prepare project documentation and reports
Qualifications:
University Mechanical Engineering Degree
Required
Minimum 2 years' experience working in construction industries servicing industrial, commercial, residential, institutional customers in a design capacity
Proven ability to work well with multi-disciplinary team
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proven competency and certification with the
AutoCAD
and
CADworx
suite of programs
Proficiency in using scanning equipment and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) to view and manage files.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Plant3D, Revit and Navisworks.
Ability to work within stringent timelines
Experience with schedule management
Excellent critical thinking with the ability to create innovative solutions
Familiar with terminology used in the mechanical industry
Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and still produce high quality results
Ability to work independently and under stress, to meet deadlines and perform effectively in emergency situations
