The Opportunity



Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the contract Pipeline Operations Engineer will support the Engineering team in various operations support and project activities. The contract Pipeline Engineer will work on scope prioritized by the Engineering team. In this role you will have an opportunity to lead by example within the corporate values of integrity, trust, and respect; and demonstrate a strong commitment to all Wolf and HSE practices, policies, standards and regulations.



This role is based in our Fort Saskatchewan office with occasional travel to the field facilities. The individual in the role must live within reasonable driving distance from Fort Saskatchewan for the duration of the contract. Please note that no relocation assistance is provided for this role.



Key Responsibilities



Provide engineering and technical support to Field Operations and peers within the Operations Engineering team Work closely with Operations to identify and troubleshoot operational, maintenance, reliability and technical issues Provide support and input on operational continuous improvement initiatives related to increased reliability, reduction of maintenance costs, and improved asset performance utilizing best practices Follow the Management of Change (MOC) process for system changes Utilize project management, risk management, and project control skills to effectively manage MOC maintenance and operating projects Understand process flow diagrams and P&ID's to effectively communicate process conditions to stakeholders Support with document markups (P&ID, Shutdown Keys, Control Philosophies) Complete technical evaluations and review of engineering and operational issues (supervised by the Engineering Manager) Gather Technical Data to support transient data modelling Provide technical support and input to the design, HAZOP reviews, 3D model reviews, construction, and quality assurance of new facilities or modifications and evaluate/make recommendations on improving equipment and facilities Interact with multiple stakeholders and team members internally and externally including technical vendors and third-party consultants Coordinate and supervise third-party consultants and engineering contractors, as required, in relation to maintenance of capital projects Support readiness, commissioning and start-up of new facilities Support the development of engineering standards, procedures and controls Support a working environment that strives to meet Health, Safety, and Environmental objectives. Perform other related duties as assigned

NOTE:

This position will involve trips to field facilities approximately 2-4 times/month. This position will also include on-call schedule during weekends, approximately once every 5 weeks.



Qualifications and Experience



Education:



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:



Minimum 5 years of related work experience A Professional Engineering Designation in Alberta, as a Member of Good Standing is an asset Experience with data gathering and modelling is an asset Knowledge of P&ID, shutdown keys, and control philosophies is an asset Understanding of the process review and documentation process is an asset Must have a full class 5 driver's license to travel to the field

Proficient in the use of computer word processing and spreadsheets Must have strong oral communication, active listening, and writing skills
