We are in search of

Utility Pipelayers

in the Kootenay region, with extensive knowledge and experience in pipelaying and road building.


Duties & Responsibilities:



Complete all work to project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Inspect, use, and maintain tools and equipment to ensure they remain in safe, reliable working condition. Rig, hoist, and install a variety of underground piping systems, including watermain, sanitary, and storm. Prepare, grade, and support trenches, and install manholes and catch basins accurately and efficiently. Perform physically demanding tasks such as loading, unloading, and moving construction materials and equipment. Prepare and maintain the job site to identify and eliminate potential hazards. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of standing water, debris, and scrap materials. Follow direction effectively while contributing as a reliable, productive member of a high-performing crew. Work independently when required and collaborate effectively as part of a team. Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality, strong attendance, and a consistent work ethic.

Qualifications & Skills:



Experience working safely in shored trenches installing a variety of underground pipe systems. Solid understanding of construction safety practices with a strong commitment to working safely on site. Valid BC driver's license considered an asset, but not required. First Aid certification is an asset. Physically fit for duty, with the ability to see, hear, stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. Positive, dependable attitude with a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions Able to communicate clearly and effectively. Willing to travel throughout the Kootenays to support projects in varying locations and weather conditions.

Compensation:



This is a Unionized position and will earn Union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union-sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan. Expected hourly rate: Unionized wage range for this position is $27.23 - $43.19 per hour (based on candidate's experience), plus X% vacation/statutory holiday pay.
