Wood is currently accepting applications for Pipefitter/Steamfitter Journeyperson (Adhoc) Offshore personnel, with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This role will be located offshore Newfoundland and Labrador and will be a casual call-out role. The successful candidate will be willing and eligible to travel Offshore via helicopter or supply vessel.
As a Pipefitter/Steamfitter Journeyperson, you will be responsible for lay out, fabrication, assembly, installation and maintenance of piping systems, pipe supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. In this role you will also be using power tools, rigging equipment, and hand tools. You will be working in confined spaces and/or at heights, as well as noisy conditions. Work may be indoors or outdoors, and at extreme temperatures.

Plan work and select proper tools, equipment, materials and machinery
Follow safety procedures for all lifting and rigging operations. Understand and utilize proper hand signals and terminology, adhering to lift plans
Select type and size of pipe and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders, according to job specifications
Inspect worksite to determine presence of obstructions
Coordinate sequences of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers
Cut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel and pipe cutting machine
Thread pipe using threading machine
Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceiling to hold pipe
Assemble and install a variety of metal or non-metal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked and hand tools
Secure pipes to structure with bracket, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools
Use pneumatic and/or hydraulic testing equipment to check systems for leaks
Perform other duties as required
Successful completion of 4 Period Apprenticeship (minimum of 1,560hrs per period, directly related to the trade), followed by Journeyperson Certification OR a valid Journeyperson Certificate issued by another Canadian province or Territory with Interprovincial Red Seal Certification
All journeypersons must demonstrate competence in their trade
Fall arrest certificate is required when working at heights
The following Offshore Certificates and Training is required and would be considered an asset:
+ Basic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA
+ Rigging, Slinging, and Banksman
+ Hydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive
+ Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015)
+ Offshore Safety Regulatory Awareness
+ Fall Protection
+ Confined Space Entry
+ Emergency First Aid
