Located in the Southern Athabasca region, MEG\xe2\x80\x99s Christina Lake Project is a multi-phased project approximately 150 kilometers South of Fort McMurray in Northeast Alberta. Comprised of approximately 200 square kilometers of leases, this SAGD operation currently has regulatory approvals in place to produce approximately 210,000 bpd. All workers will be staying at the state-of-the-art Poplar Ridge Lodge, which boasts a gym, rec area, commissary, laundry facility, Wi-Fi, cable, custom sandwiches, as well as full breakfasts and dinners. We have an amazing, experienced site team at MEG Energy who have safety and efficient work practices at the top of mind.
Jardeg is recruiting Pipefitter Apprentice (3rd and 4th Years) with the MEG Energy Pipeline Projects team on site near Conklin, Alberta. These are full-time/long term positions on either an 8/6 or 21/7 rotation. This is a drive-in / drive-out site only and travel allowance will be provided.
Effective October 3rd, 2022 \xe2\x80\x93 Pipefitter Apprentices at MEG Energy will receive a $3/hr incentive on top of the base hourly wage paid on all hours worked (regular and overtime).
Steamfitter \xe2\x80\x93 pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes. Pipefitters also remove and replace worn components, do general maintenance work and may work on plant shutdowns.
Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings.
• Understand Material Receiving to analyze MTRS to make sure they meet requirements of owner/Client specification
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
• Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors.
• Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Follow various contractor and Client policies & procedures including adherence to requirements of ISO 9001-2000.

Requirements:

• Must be registered in AIT\'s (Alberta Industry Training) Steamfitter/Pipefitter Apprenticeship Program or equivalent from another provincial trades governing body.
• Construction Safety Training Systems - 09 (CSTS-09) Certification required.
• H2S Alive Certification required.
