As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for installing underground utilities, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. You will work closely with equipment operators, laborers, and foremen to ensure pipes are laid safely, accurately, and in compliance with all plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install water, sewer, and storm drainage pipes to required line and grade
- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications
- Align and position pipes to ensure proper slope and flow
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints using cement, glue, or welding equipment
- Assist with excavation and trenching work
- Operate and maintain hand tools and small equipment
- Ensure safety procedures are always followed
- Perform other related duties as required on the job site
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a pipe layer or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of underground utility systems and pipe installation
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and grade stakes
- Strong understanding of safety standards and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required
- Commercial Driving License is a plus but not required
Terms of Employment:
- Full Time / Seasonal; 40 hours per week
- Some evenings and weekends required
Salary:
$25 - 30 per hour depending on certification and experience.
