Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Picture Framer to join our growing business for 1-days per week. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art and craftsmanship, with the ability to create beautiful and functional frames for various artworks. This role requires a blend of artistic vision and technical skills, ensuring that each piece is framed to perfection while maintaining the integrity of the artwork. Role can be tailored to suit preferences of employee since there is a vast array of skills required.

Responsibilities

Measure and cut materials accurately to create custom frames for artworks. Assemble frames using hand tools and power tools, ensuring precision in every project. Select appropriate materials, including wood, metal, and glass, based on the specific needs of each piece. Apply finishing touches such as sanding, staining, or painting to enhance the appearance of the frames. Collaborate with artists and clients to understand their vision and provide recommendations for framing options. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols when using equipment and power tools. Ensure timely completion of framing projects while maintaining high-quality standards. Mounting and laminating artworks Manufacturing of items on CNC cutters

Experience

Previous experience in art framing or a related field is preferred but not required as we are willing to train the right person. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively is an asset. A background in carpentry can be an asset in developing framing skills and techniques. Knowledge of CAD software an asset to run our computerized mat cutter, CNC router and laser cutter. Customer service experience would also be an asset since the role could include advising customers on framing choices and advice on correct treatment for artworks.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
