Job Overview
We are recruiting a Picker Operator 45Ton to join our team. The Picker Operator 45Ton will be responsible for safely operating a boom truck to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and other heavy loads at construction sites or other project locations. This role requires a highly skilled operator with the ability to safely and efficiently maneuver loads using the boom crane, ensuring that all lifting and rigging activities are conducted according to project specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities

• Safely operate to lift, move, position, and transport heavy loads such as construction materials, equipment, and supplies at job sites or project locations
• Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of the equipment, including checking fluid levels, tires, and mechanical systems.
• Properly rig and secure loads using appropriate lifting equipment, straps, chains, and other rigging materials.
• Lift and position materials and equipment accurately according to job site requirements.
• Work closely with ground crew and other workers to communicate load movements and ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Follow hand signals, radio communications, or other instructions to move loads safely and precisely
• Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication, and checking for mechanical issues.
• Safely transport materials and equipment to and from the job site as needed, ensuring that all loads are properly secured during transport
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with OH&S regulations.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of the boom truck on job sites, including ensuring that the truck is safely positioned and leveled for operation.

Requirements

• 5 years' experience operating similar heavy equipment, including cranes and forklifts, preferably in a construction or industrial environment
• Must have a valid class 1 driver's license
• Journeyperson Picker Operator
• Experience in load rigging, lifting, and positioning materials or equipment
• Knowledge of boom truck safety operations, load charts, and lifting capacity limitations
• Excellent spatial awareness and the ability to safely maneuver loads in tight or challenging spaces
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with supervisors, ground crew, and other workers on the site
• In-depth understanding of safety procedures and regulations related to crane and boom truck operations, including load limits, safety zones, and proper lifting techniques
• Ability to understand and follow hand signals, radio communication, and verbal instructions for safe operation on-site
• Must pass pre-employment alcohol and drug test including cannabis
