Westwood Physiotherapy is looking to hire a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA)

We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to support our healthcare team in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting licensed physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans, preparing patients for therapy sessions, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in healthcare, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient interactions. Prior hospital experience and familiarity with acute care settings are highly desirable.

Duties

Assist physiotherapists in administering therapeutic exercises and modalities according to prescribed treatment plans Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use Support patients during therapy sessions, providing guidance and encouragement Monitor patient responses during treatments and report any concerns or adverse reactions to the supervising physiotherapist Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and positioning as needed to ensure safety and comfort Adhere to infection control protocols and hospital policies at all times Educate patients on post-treatment exercises or home care routines as directed by the physiotherapist

Skills

Previous PTA experience, is preferred Strong understanding of patient care principles within a medical environment Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy and healthcare practices Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient safety and comfort Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting

Pay: $37,500.00-$40,000.00 per year
