We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiotherapy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This position involves assisting patients with rehabilitation exercises, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all patients.
Duties
Assist physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans and rehabilitation programs for patients.
Carry out a variety of treatments as advised and prescribed by the supervising physiotherapist, such as strengthening, range of motion, gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, and the use of modalities. (e.g. TENS, ultrasound, ice, heat)
Prepare treatment areas and ensure that all necessary equipment is available and in good working condition.
Educate patients on exercises and proper techniques to enhance recovery.
Monitor patient progress during sessions and report any changes or concerns to the physiotherapist.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation related to treatment sessions.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the therapy area, adhering to health and safety standards.
Provide support to patients during their therapy sessions, ensuring comfort and safety at all times.
Qualifications
Knowledge of medical terminology is crucial for clear and accurate communication within the healthcare team.
Prior experience in patient care, especially Physiotherapy clinic setting, is highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive relationships with patients and their families.
Familiarity with Universal Billing software is considered an asset.
