About the Opportunity
The physiotherapist works under the supervision of a CZ Manager and is a member of the interdisciplinary Seniors Care Team responsible for providing service to seniors
65 years of age in the emergency department and community settings. The physiotherapist participates in the triage, assessment, planning, delivery and transfer of physiotherapy services that will support seniors to enhance their independence and function at home. The physiotherapist requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively to the full scope of their practice within a busy multidisciplinary environment. The physiotherapist requires ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and manage their time efficiently. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are required. Experience working in a community setting is an asset.
The physiotherapist provides collaborative, senior centered care across the health care continuum, supporting the physical, psychosocial and emotional well-being of all individuals (including patients, families, groups, populations and communities). This position requires clinical coordination within the team and with community partners. The physiotherapist contributes to the clinical education of physio. students and related health disciplines. The physiotherapist is responsible for adhering to Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures and to the professional standards of their licensing body.
