The Opportunity
Reporting to the Managers of Rehabilitation Services, and Hematology, Oncology, Nephrology, and Pediatric Advanced Care Team (PACT) Services, the physiotherapist provides assessment, intervention, and follow-up (as indicated) on a direct, consultative, and monitoring basis for Hematology, Oncology, and Nephrology (clinic and inpatient services) (0.30 FTE), and acute neurology and neurosurgery inpatients and outpatients including Inpatient Rehab Team (0.70 FTE). The Physiotherapist works in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, team leaders, as well as other interdisciplinary team members both within the Health Centre and in the community. The Physiotherapist participates in the professional development of services through care team meetings, working groups, and subcommittees as appropriate. The Physiotherapist will also participate in the education of patients and families, Health Centre staff, and affiliated students. As a member of the Physiotherapy Service, the Physiotherapist will share responsibility with all IWK Physiotherapists for caseload coverage throughout the Health Centre as required, as well as weekend standby and call-back coverage on a rotational basis.
Hours of Work
7.5 hours/shift, daytime. Some flexibility required. Weekend on-call rotational basis.
Your Qualifications

• Graduate of a Canadian Physiotherapy Association (C.P.A.) approved Physiotherapy program required.
• License to practice by the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy is required.
• Minimum two (2) years clinical experience preferred. Pediatric clinical experience preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical care; commitment to evidence-based practice.
• Demonstrated commitment to post-graduate education.
• Demonstrated ability to work within an interprofessional collaborative practice framework and the ability to work independently are required.
• Demonstrated excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
• Demonstrated understanding and commitment to Family Centred Care required.
• Current successful completion of CPR Level-C Health Care Provider within the last 12 months required.
• Knowledge of program-based care is an asset.
• Competencies in other languages are considered an asset.
