Your opportunity is to work in an award winning trans-disciplinary program providing specialized stroke care in the client's home. As our Physiotherapist, under supervision from the Clinical Coordinator of the Stroke Early Supported Discharge Team, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of Physiotherapy assessments and treatment for clients referred. You will plan, schedule, assess and implement treatment programs for clients with a history of a Stroke. The treatment will be provided within the trans-disciplinary model, with an emphasis on Client and Family Centered Care. You will participate in client teaching, provide consultation and in-servicing, communicate with family, co-workers and other members of the health care team, and perform documentation as required. You accept responsibility for continuing competencies through ongoing professional development including participation in education programs, research and continuous quality activities. You need to adhere to the Physiotherapy Alberta College and Association's Code of Ethics and AHS policies and procedures. You will provide care within the full scope of practice as defined by the college and be responsible and accountable for your physiotherapy practice as defined by the college and ensure that your registration is current and valid within your scope of practice. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.

As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.
