JOIN OUR TEAM at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), Alberta's busiest tertiary hospital. We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Acute Care team. The RAH serves over 500,000 patients annually across one-third of Canada's landmass and is home to specialized programs including Level 2 Trauma/ICU, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Stroke, Cardiac Care, and the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. Our Rehabilitation team is an integral part of the exceptional care delivered at the RAH. We are a collaborative team of OTs, PTs, Recreation Therapists, SLPs, and Therapy Assistants, driven by a commitment to clinical excellence, professional growth, and compassionate patient care. About the Role: We have an exceptional and progressive arthroplasty program at the RAH, completing the most arthroplasty surgeries in the province each year. Enjoy the opportunity as an OT or PT to work evening hours, with a schedule from 1:00 to 9:15 pm. You would be caring for arthroplasty day surgery or admission patients to ensure appropriate exercise prescription, teach functional daily skills, and ensure a safe discharge from hospital. This includes hip, knee, or shoulder arthroplasty patients. You would also be responsible for meeting key performance indicators that are impactful for these patients' recovery. Description:
As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.
