We are looking for a collaborative and innovative Physical therapist to join our multidisciplinary team and provide direct patent care to the Inpatient Orthopedic Unit. This position also provides coverage to Inpatient Medicine units, as required. Under the supervision of the Allied Health Assistant Manager and support from the Clinical Practice Leader, the PTI position will work within the established standards, directives and policies for the work environment and the profession. The successful incumbent will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain collaborative working relationships. They will demonstrate sound clinical judgement and critical thinking skills, as well as have strong time management and prioritization skills. The caseload and work hours for all positions within the Allied Health department may be subject to change based on operational considerations.Description:As the Physiotherapist I (PT), you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness and functional decline. You will provide intervention (i.e. prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral and transition support to individuals, groups, populations and communities. You will include clients and families as integral members of the health care team, encouraging their active participation in all aspects of care. The PT collaborates with patient(s) and families in determining, implementing and evaluating appropriate rehabilitation strategies. You will participate in a variety of interprofessional teams to build awareness, enrich supports and engage in quality improvement; partnering with healthcare providers, patients, families and other stakeholders to advance services for their clients. You will contribute to quality improvement and their professional community; participates in peer mentoring; and supervises students. You may provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants, Therapy Aides and Provisional Physiotherapists.

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program. Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta. Additional Required Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support-Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) through Heart & Stroke Foundation. Completion of Connect Care- Allied Health ILT. Experience working as a Physical Therapist with Allied Health in an adult urban acute in-patient medical or surgical unit in the last year. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an adult urban acute care/hospital in the following areas preferred: Orthopedics, General Medicine, and Critical Care in the last 2 years.
